Square interviews can be difficult to write, especially when the interviewee has a lot of questions to ask. I’m happy to share with you a few questions that have been asked of me that I’ve been working on over the past few years.
I think the biggest challenge for most Square interviewees is to convey the specific details of what you do and what you are focused on and what you have to do in a few short sentences. I’ve found that the best way to do this is to focus on the parts of the question that you have control over, write the rest of the question, and then leave it up to the interviewee to fill in the blanks with more detail if they want to.
This is a common challenge, especially in the corporate world. For example, Ive worked on a number of corporate interviews, but one of the biggest challenges was to come up with answers that were short enough to be memorable but still contained detailed instructions. This challenge is even more difficult if you are a member of a team that uses a lot of acronyms, jargon, or just plain gibberish.
