I’ve had a lot of thought about how and what to post on our blog and who should use them, as a response. I thought I would just put together a few best practices to help everyone make the most of their time online.
1. We should post when we’re not working.
We should stay away from the posts that contain sexual content.
The rule I like to abide by is that when I am not logged into my account, I should not post anything that could be considered sexual.
I think this is a relatively easy rule to follow. Its one of those rules that helps me stay in the clear when I am not logged into my account, and is probably easier than just having a rule for everything.
I think the rule is good because it prevents us from having conversations about our personal lives on blogs that are supposed to be professional. When we are not logged into our account, we don’t want to risk having a conversation that could be construed as a personal attack or something that could be construed as an attempt to violate the etiquette of the blog. I think this is also good because it keeps the conversation focused on work instead of personal stuff we would rather not talk about.
I can see why it would be bad to not log into your account if you had an account. I mean, if you know your account is about to be hacked and you dont want anyone to know you are on it, then you wouldnt want people to know you are on it, even if you dont have an account. The same goes if you have a blog.
This is an interesting point. I feel that what we do in our business is what we should do in our life. I feel that if I’m going to run a blog, I should use something like WordPress. It is easier to maintain, and there are more plugins and themes that a blogger would need to use.
I don’t think this is a bad thing. I think it is the thing that is needed. Blogs are an easy medium for those who want to communicate anonymously, but in a world where people want to know who you are. They want to know what you are thinking, what you feel, what you are up to. They want to keep up-to-date on you. They want to know who you are and what you are doing.
I know what you are thinking. You are thinking about what you do most of the time. But it’s only when you stop thinking it, or when you think it, that it starts to become a problem. And I bet that if you are thinking about your business, you will get a lot of attention.
